Discount Tire Co. in Austin put a new set of tires on my Jeep just before I left town and came to Green Acres. I went in to the Discount Tire Co. on Sprague Ave. and told the problems I had since then: 1) one of the tires was going flat--which could have been a nail or something 2) the tires they put on my Jeep were too big. When I'd cut the wheel too sharply, the tire would scrape against the exterior of the vehicle. Eventually, the tire popped off the whole fender. The first guy I talked to at Discount Tire Co. said he didn't think the fender came off because of the tire situation, but he talked to the manager. The manager came out and acknowledged the truth. They put on a brand new set of appropriately-sized tires without charging me. The manager also told me he would be in contact with the Discount Tire Co. in Austin to see about me getting compensation for replacement of the missing panel off my Jeep. He gave me his card and said he was my point man. I was impressed with the organization, internal communication, and accountability. They quickly found my records on their computer system, have no problem with internal interstate communications, and took responsibility for their mistake. The buck stops here.
Pros: Accepted responsibility for mistake
Cons: Made mistake
