The only reason Im revuing this restaurant is that I found it on CitySearch; and the revus on this restaurant made me want to try it ... so here goes ...
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary; we thot about going to the new El Gauchos in Bellevue, but when we saw the menu prices ... holy sh_t ... I dont think so ... can you say 'poor economy'...
Anyway we rate 'Amore' restaurant: above average, very good food, but the atmosphere is questionable ... we went kinda late, about 9p, after a movie; our table was rite by the hallway to the bathroom, and there was a constant smell of paint thinner in the air coming from the hallway; so if you go, ask not to sit by the hallway ...
We started by ordering some wine and the Portabello mushrooms for appetizer, excellent ...
For dinner, my wife ordered the oyster stew, but they were out of it ... which was a little annoying, that they didnt tell us until we ordered it ... she also order Wild Salmon n Rock Shrimp Pasta ... very good n tasty pesto ... the only thing was it was not hot enuf (temp) ...
I ordered the Wild Mushroom Ravioli ... also very good ... luvd the the Port Wine Sauce n mushrooms on top of the ravioli ... and again, it was not hot enuf ... dont get me wrong the food was still very good ... I just wondered why, cuz the whole restaurant was not that busy ...
As a cook myself, keeping food hot and serving it hot is an issue when it comes to serving a lot people ... the servers should serve the food rite as it is finished cooking, especially when it is pasta ... otherwise I would have givin 'Amore' a 4-star instead of 3 ...
Pros: pretty darn good food ...
Cons: atmosphere a little cheesy ...
