Rent at your own risk 7/9/2009

The walls are thin and you can hear a lot of what goes on in other apartments and the hallways. The people below me smoke and the smell constantly billows up into my apartment through a vent, giving it the most awful smell (until I invested in a $50 air purifier). Walk into the Office at the risk of your own health, it smells like Marlboro Country in there. The dog policy is incredibly frustrating. You are only supposed to own small dogs (under 20 lbs), yet TWO big black labs live in the complex. Despite a ""clean up after your dog rule"" and despite paying a $250 ""pet fee"" you cannot walk your dog on the grounds, instead the dog must be walked on the tiny strip of grass that is along the outside of the complex. This area of grass is muddy in the spring and fall, apparently they are happy seeing mud tracked into the apartments. I was constantly getting flies in my apartment (sometimes 6 at a time). I realized the problem stemmed from my bedroom window- which looks like it's at least 30 years old. I had to line my window with duct tape to stop them from coming in, which probably breaks some kind of fire code but it is useless to call maintenance, as I will explain next. Finally, maintenance is incredibly sub-par. I have problems that have needed fixing in my apartment since I moved in 6 months ago. Despite calling many times to inform them the problem has not been fixed, and being told, ""it's next on Tony's list"", nothing has been done. I gave up calling. Pros: Rent, included utilities, location Cons: Everything else more
