OK, please don't listen to harmonygirl OR Bob S in any reviews on any review sites about Nokomis Lanes. THEY ARE WRONG. I watched the owner kick them out of Nokomis after causing quite a commotion because THEY did NOT understand that they were wrong.
Here's how it really went:
We had a lot going on that night, but I clearly remember this incident. These people were part of a CHURCH GROUP. Each family in the group paid the lady in charge for however many games they wanted to play. The lady in charge then came up to me and we counted together how many TOTAL games and shoes she owed for. The lady in charge told ME that they only paid her for 2 games, and no shoes because they had their own, so I only took money for 2 games for each of them, so obviously that's all that they could play. When the lane shut off after 2 games, they (Bob and his son) came up to the counter cussing and yelling at us, in front of the church group that they were supposedly part of, a high school group that was also bowling there, and our women's league. We were calmly trying to explain the situation and how we were going to fix it, but they kept exploding at us and saying some pretty nasty words. So, obviously the owner kicked them out before the problem could be fixed, which was NOT even our fault in the beginning. It was the lady in charge who told me they paid her for 2 games. They should have been trying to get their money back from her. We did NOTHING wrong.
I just wanted to make this clear that Nokomis Lanes is (well WAS now...) NEVER a rip-off joint. We were one of the cheapest places in town to go bowling and have a good time. We bent over backwards for our customers and did things that most bowling centers would never do. We have now closed our doors for good, as the economy just wasn't making it possible to stay open.
To anyone who ever had a good time at Nokomis, Thank you. We put a lot of love into the place since we took it over in July of 2006, and it showed.
