My first encounter with SCR was a result of a friend's story relating an experience she had. She stopped in for an estimate for repair of a new incident. She had been there maybe 6 months earlier, and Tony addressed her by name. She didn't have an appointment, she had not phoned ahead. Tony remembers faces and names, and that's a great start.
About a year after my first repair there, I had the same experience. Despite all the hundreds or thousands of customers Tony met in the intervening year, he still not only recognized me, he remembered my name.
Remembering people is all well and good, but what really matters even more is the quality of workmanship, right? Well, the repairs I've had done there have been minor, but they're done right and done well, without the kinds of problems I have experienced at other body shops.
One final thing that I like about a shop like Tony's is that he just wants to serve the local area, without trying to expand and be a metro-wide or national chain. While there certainly are some advantages to large chains in a few cases, nothing seems to take the ""custom"" out of ""customer"" more quickly than gargantuanism and aspiration to such, and lower-quality work typically ensues.
