First we rented a house through Pegasus Property. We did our inspection and everything was fine. Then Hurricane Ike came and one of the trees was very badly damaged. It took 6 months for them to remove the damaged branches which were dangling from the tree. One day I came home and a huge section of the tree was in the driveway. If I had been there, my car would have been wrecked. Finally I said I was going to hire someone to do it and give them the bill and Pegasus finally did something.\r

In the lease there is a clause that they will charge you $100 for a call out so you end up replacing parts and doing the repair work yourself just to avoid this charge.\r

Our lease was up and then our rent went up $200 a month. So we ended up leaving. We asked for a walk through but were told it wasn't their practice. I thought this was weird until I got my security deposit back and saw why they didn't want to to a walk through. They charged over 10 times what it would have cost me to fix the minor items they found. When I complained, they cited these obscure clauses in the contract. \r

They sent me a receipt of the charges they sent to the owners of the house and it was ridiculous. For painting a shelf, they charged the owner $350. One of our neighbors would come and do some of the repair work in order to save the owner's of the property the fees that pegasus charged them. Beware of this company! If you want to see any of your deposit back, plan on spending some time in court.
