Sod Hatched Blister Beetles 7/1/2009

Two weeks after our bermuda sod was installed by Green Acre Sod Store in Stillwater, the grass hatched thousands of striped blister beetles. The sod was installed in a cleared area around a newly built home, a few acres away from our pastures. We raise horses, dogs, and sheep, and blister beetles are toxic to these animals. The Green Acre manager denied responsibility. We've had to spray at our expense, and hope that the beetles do not migrate to our pastures. These are the first blister beetles we've had on our farm. We won't purchase from Green Acres Sod Store ever again. more
