My husband bought a full day spa gift for me which cost $315 for a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure, and a makeup application. Massage ($90) and facial($100) were nice, but I have had several massages and facials for around $60 -$75 which were just as good. Same for the pedicure, it was nice, but again no better than others that I have paid $35-$40 for and the polish was not smooth. I pointed it out to the lady doing my toes and she acted as though she didn't see the mess she made. It was just polish, no big deal , I would repaint them when I get home. Not sure about the way the pedicure tubs were cleaned though. Tilex was sprayed all over and wiped clean. Nothing was run through the tub jets where the water circulates though. Just surface clean....don't think that is a good thing. The manicure was good, no complaints, but of course the price. Just a little over priced, but not too bad. Next was the disaster.....WARNING!!!!!!!! makeup application was absolutely horrible and once again overpriced. Lets see, where do I begin. Foundation was put not only on my face, but my eyelids....nice moist eyelids, just what you want your eye shadow to stick to. Then she didn't use any loose or pressed powder, so I was nice and shiny. blush was put on with her thumb and she double dipped back into the blush several times after touching my face. Same with the eye shadow, double dipped and applied it darker and higher on one side than the other. Next I had a black line drawn from the bottom of my outer eye in about 1 quarter of an inch long and about 1 eighth of an inch thick....I was ready for Ringling Brothers. To top it all off, more unsanitary actions... She used an eyelash conditioner straight from the tube with the wand it comes with and double dipped once again and the same with the mascara, in the tube and on my lashes over and over. Lastly, she put lipstick on over my old existing lipstick from earlier that morning. So as soon as the service was over I told the staff at the front desk and they told me I didn't know what I was talking about that the lady never double dipped anything. I washed my face and asked to be refunded the $50 for the makeup application which was normally $70 if you didn't buy a package. They told me to call the manager and would not give me the owners name. I was so upset and started to cry...yes, what a baby I am. I was just so frustrated. They offered me to repaint, which I did. I called the manager when I was told to call, she wasn't available, so I left a message. She never called back, so I called again and she still wasn't available, but the owner answered the phone. I thought ahhh, great. Well, she told me that the lady doing my makeup did admit to double dipping, I wasn't crazy after all. But she said that the lady did it because she was upset and beside herself that I was unhappy...hmmm, that is funny, she didn't know I was unhappy until the service was over. So needless to say, her staff and I did not have stories that jived. She said she had to talk to her staff again and would call me back. She finally called back and said she would not refund my money because it was my opinion that it was a bad makeup job. All her staff said it was great. I don't think my opinion had anything to do with sanitary practices...but apparently they do.
Pros: decorated nicely, nice robes
Cons: expensive, poor quality work, unsanitary practices
