My husband and I went out of town for a week and needed to board our 2 dogs...after reading the reviews on this site I felt like Eagle Ridge would be a good choice. When we left our dogs there they were both healthy...our female lab, Stowe had also just had her ears cleaned a few days before. Well almost as soon as we got home we noticed Stowe pawing at her ear, she was clearly in pain, and that both Stowe and our other dog Greer had colds. We took Stowe to the vet to be told that she had a raging ear infection, which clearly didn't happen over the course of a few hours, so someone at Eagle Ridge should have noticed something over the course of the week she was with them. I'm upset that our dogs got sick in their care, but more than that, I am upset that no one noticed it. I find it a little hard to believe that the very first symptom she exhibited was immediately after we picked her up. I called to talk to them about it, and they had no note of anything relating to her ear. The person with whom I spoke on the phone claimed that dogs ""often act stoic there and won't show they are in pain"" which I find utterly ridiculous as Stowe has had major surgery in the past and is not ""stoic"" at all. She basically acted like it was no big deal that I dropped off two healthy dogs, spent $400 for them to be boarded for a week, and came home to have to spend another $100 the next day at the vet. She expressed no concern for my dog and was only interested in making it clear that they did nothing wrong- which I wholeheartedly disagree with. They may have done ""nothing"", but that is exactly my point. I am incredibly disappointed with my experience with Eagle Ridge and my dogs will most certainly not be returning there.
Pros: location
Cons: my dogs arrived healthy and left sick
