The long wait the day of my mammogram was one thing....investing 1.5 hours for a basic mammogram was annoying but not enough for me to discourage people from going there.
The fact that they sent me a LETTER to tell me I need additional tests run rather than picking up the phone and talking to me ---- THAT is another matter.
A LETTER to say call us to schedule another appointment.
A LETTER to say not everything on your mammogram is clear.
A LETTER....not a call.
I was astounded. I called. 4:20pm. Pressed the option for appointment and was directed to ""general mailbox"" voice mail. Left a voice mail explaining I needed to schedule a second screening.
At 4:55pm called again. Same result. Leave another message.
It is now the following business day - past noon - still no call back.
I have placed another call ---- to another Imaging Center in town to schedule an appointment -- not only did they answer the phone, they were very helpful, listened to my concerns, answered my questions in a caring manner and got me scheduled. And I DID inquire what they do when a mammogram isn't 100% clear --- they CALL their patients.
A mammogram result that isn't 100% clear is scary enough without being treated with complete disregard by the imaging center you're working with.
