My children and I love this place. We just recently started coming here after my children attended their cousin's birthday party. My sister paid $120 for cake, 10 guests, activites for all the guests, food, tokens, decorations.... the works!\r
After picking up the kids, they talked so much about the party we ended up going out on a family outting the very next week. The cashier we met was so helpful, if for no other reason I would come back just for the service. We walked in and approached the register, after explaining to the woman that we were first time customers, she pulled out a brochure of activites for me to browse through. Once we decided what activities we wanted to do, she came up with the best deal for us. We ended up with activity passes for my oldest child and myself, and my youngest daughter with a gokart package. She ended up being too scared to drive and I was a little concerned that she would feel left out. It wasn't an issue at all, we explained the situation and the cashier suggested that Lily might like laser tag instead and swapped out the tickets for us, no problems! My oldest boy is a huge fan of their laser tag, he is only 8 and rather skinny for his age, but he can carry the equipment no problem! When we went to Putt N Stuff he had a hard time carrying around their bulky equiptment and prefers the look of the Acres course much more. My son was put out however that it was only the three of us playing laser tag, this meant that his sister and I would be on a team because she doesn't like to explore new places on her own. However this turned out to not be the case. The staff member that was monitering our game came in with us and walked around the entire time with my daughter and helped her learn to play the game, she ended up beating both her brother and I! Now she loves laser tag as much as her brother!\r
We have never once had to wait on a staff member to be out at an activity, we've only ever had to wait for tickets in a game to be filled but it was not a long wait at all and the staff gave us a few extra points so my kids could split their tickets evenly, which prevented a fight between them. \r
Recently both my children started to take skate lessons at the skating rink next door, my only complaint is that the only day we can come skate as a family is Saturday evening. Friday night is for a 10+ crowd. We have visited on Friday nights as well but there are many rowdy teens that enter the game room on skates. I've seen the way these kids act in school, as I work as a cook in one of the local middle schools, and it is a wonder that the staff members keep as much control as they do!\r
I am such a huge fan and so appreciative to the Acres of Fun staff for providing my children and I with wonderful memories, I can say I would recommend this place to anyone, even my worst enemy.
Pros: Cheap prices, friendly staff members, lots of activities!
Cons: Skateland is not open often enough
