I acquired a one year old papillion (Oliver) who was abused and very difficult to handle. He had a luxated Patella and could not use his rear leg. I was quoted $2500 to $3000 dollars for the surgery by all of the new corporate-esque money grubbers that are replacing our veterinarians in the Portland area. Dr. Tesar quoted me around $900.00 for the entire procedure, including post-op office visits, and he stuck to it. It's only 8 weeks later and Ollie can jump onto a 4 foot tall counter top (to steal my breakfast). Not only did Dr. Tesar do an outstanding job for a fraction of the cost of other vets, but his staff made an extra effort to help Oliver, who was vicious and biting people, feel at ease. I won't take my pets anywhere else and I think Portlanders need to support vets like this one.
Pros: Professional, honest, reasonable prices
