DISCOURAGING SEASON 6/8/2009

MY SON HAS PLAYED FOR SMITHS STATION DIXIE YOUTH, IN SMITHS STATION AL. SINCE THE AGE OF 5 YEARS. HE IS NOW 12 AND PLAYED FOR THE MAJOR REDS LAST YEAR AND THIS YEAR. HIS COACHES THIS YEAR WERE NOT DEDICATED TO THE TEAM. THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE PRACTICE SINCE THE SEASON BEGAN THEREFORE THE BOYS WERE NOT TAUGHT HOW TO CORRECT THEIR MISTAKES THAT MAY HAVE BEEN MAY DURING ONE OF THE GAMES. WE HAD 4 COACHES THIS YEAR AND IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT GARY WARREN PROMISED THEM THAT EACH OF THEIR CHILDREN WOULD MAKE ALLSTARS. NOW THAT THE SEASON IS OVER AND ALLSTARS ARE GOING TO BE PICKED TONIGHT I LEARN THAT TWO OF OUR PLAYERS WERE ONLY 10 YEARS OLD BUT ARE GOING TO PLAY ALL STARS FOR THE MINOR TEAMS. IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE KIDS THAT PLAYED ALL YEAR IN THEIR CORRECT AGE GROUP AND HAVE BEEN OVER LOOKED SO THE ""COACHES"" SONS CAN PLAY ALL STARS. I AM SURE IT IS NOT LEGAL FOR A CHILD TO PL.AY OUT OF HIS AGE GROUP AND THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I AM GLAD THIS IS MY CHILDS LAST YEAR AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE PLAYING AT SMITHS STATION. I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT HIGHLY OF GARY WARREN BUT THIS YEAR HE HAS REALLY TREATED THE KIDS UNFAIRLY. Pros: SEASON IS OVER Cons: COACHES NOT DEDICATED more
