Wrong Diagnosis Leg Amputation 4/17/2009

The VCA in Weymouth said our dog had signs of cancer after several tests. In 5 days we were at their ER 4 times and each time, we left with an open diagnosis and more pills (pain killers, anitbiotics, etc.) By the fifth day our dog could no longer walk. After several tests and seing 8 doctors there, we were told that his leg will most likely have to be amputated. Once the leg was removed, they discovered that he did not have cancer at all. Instead it was a massive baterial infection that could have been treated with a very strong antibiotic. We are devasted by what they have done to our dog. We sought a second opinion who confirmed the leg should have never been removed. NEVER EVER go to the VCA in Weymouth. They agreed to pay for 1/2 the operation a sum of $1300 but had they audacity to charge us still $3500! We have filed complaints against their vet lic. and found they had previous complaints. Cons: Unprofessional Incompetant doctors w/too many clients more
