Warning: If Catholic, stay away from this practice 4/22/2009

I have been using this practice a few years for regular exams. Since my marriage this past summer, my husband and I have been trying to conceive. A month before our marriage, I went in compaining about a pain and was told it was just a cyst and it will go away... The pain continued and felt pretty extreme at times. Then in September, I visited again because the pain would not go away; I had a ultra sound and it revealed a small cyst on each ovary and a 3.5cm fibroid. I was told not to worry about anything and the pain will go away. They knew my husband and I were very eager to have children and knew my age, 34, was a factor. Iwas told to come back after 6 month if we didn't conceive. Well, I came back for that reason and also because the extreme pain that was still occuring. Their suggestion was to obtain and HSG, bld test and then my husband would need to submit a seaman sample. Once that was done, then I would go on fertility drgs... Well, I explained because of our religious beliefs, it was a grave matter if he was to masterbate to obtain seaman and Dr. Marguiles responsed with a rude tone in her voice saying ""show me where that is against the teaching of the Catholic faith."" Then I also made note that certain fertility drgs are also against the Church's teaching and received another rude response. I was told they have many Catholics who come to their practice and they have no issues with the procedures. When I had called the nurse concerning the pain again, I was told I just must be one of those women who are sensitive to cysts. She and I also talked again about fertility and the nurse gave me a hard time too about my beliefs and my husband sinning... I had also been charting my cycle and when I brought it in for the doctor to review, she had no interest in looking at it. In the meantime, my bld test came back and I was told it was fine... Pain was still occuring and I went for another visit; The doctor did not do an exam but just talked to me. Then I received the bill and it said a pelvic exam was done. At this time I was crushed because I felt like I was being persecuted for my faith. When I went to another doctor, who was Catholic, he looked at my bld test and made note it was not and that I had a higher LH # than the FSH, which creates and issue with the brain communicating with the ovary; a contributing factor to infertility. Then I also found out from the new doctor, the pain I have been having is due to endometriosis, another thing that contributes to infertility, and he was baffled after reading the reports from About Women by Women. In their reports, it notes the constant complaint of pain but no treament. Then they were kind of enough to note that my husband is a ""staunch Catholic"" and refuses the analysis. A staunch Catholic, how about just Catholic. I believe this practice it for the women who want to use drgs for everything. The drgs end up hurting your body in the long run. I was abloe to find a doctor who is Catholic and whp practices the NaPro Technology, which is completely approved by the Church. This is a natural way of increases fertility and treating sub-feritility and infertility. The system has a higher success rate that the IVF and fertility drgs. \r \r more
