This should be zero star rating. I hired Atlantic TV to fix a loose HDMI input. They came and took the ""metal box"" out of my Samsung DLP TV that is about 4 years old. I was told they would try to fix the input but that if it couldn't be fixed a whole new box would need to be purchased. \r
I agreed to this even though the cost was ridiculous. It would be $200-300 to fix or $400-500 for a new one. \r
I get the call that they fixed it! My children were happy as was I since 4-5 days without a TV can be a little unpleasant with 3 kids.\r
When the serviceman put it all back together and turned on the tv, the input was set to DVI. I questioned this and was told this is how they fixed it?!! All he did was put a $20 HDMI to DVI adapter on the back and charged me over $300!\r
I called the shop and the ""owner"" had the nerve to tell me he redirected the wires in the box to make them HDMI, which is a total lie. After suggesting he only charge me for the adapter, he hung up on me. \r
The serviceman even chuckled and said, ""Wow, you're smart.""\r
I guess I am lucky that I am smart enough to know when I am being scammed. \r
I thought I would do a nice thing and throw some business to a local business, but I almost got burned. They refused to give me back my deposit check, so I had to eat the $25 it cost to stop payment, but those liars won't get a dime of my money. \r
\r
Don't use Atlantic TV.
