I tried Chimu a few times and as a Peruvian I can only recommend the Lomo saltado there. Don't order the ""pollo a la brasa"" at opening time because they will give a leftover piece from the day before. The cooks, servers and waiters are not Peruvian and not knowledgeable at all about Peruvian cuisine. I was there last Thursday and I ordered pollo a la brasa con papas fritas, tamal, papa rellena y chupe de camarones. The chicken was obviously a leftover piece from the day before, it didn't have any flavor, I couldn't eat the fries, they serve the chicken and fries in different plates (with the only purpose to charge you separately for it) This was the worst ""pollo a la brasa"" I have ever tried I could only take a bite. The tamal was a quarter of a regular size tamal and it had a very small piece of chicken instead of a decent piece of pork as it should be.
Pros: The ""lomo saltado""
Cons: dark and gloomy atmosphere.
