I was looking for some help with just a few items recently when I was moving from one apartment to another. I had a few heavier pieces of furniture that I was afraid my friends and I would not be able to handle on our own - especially since I was moving onto the second floor. I thought I was going to have some more help moving and when I realized that I was not, a few days before the move, I flipped through the yellow pages looking for a mover who might be able to help with a small move on short notice. I came across Marrs' ad in the yellow pages and it looked perfect - "No job too big or too small!" and "Short notice moves" were two of the phrases that caught my eye. In addition it said the business was family owned and operated and I thought that sounded like the perfect place to bring my money and business, especially in these tough economic times. I called them up and asked a couple of questions - making sure that the few days notice was not going to be a problem. The woman I spoke to told me that they have done moves on the next or even same day before, so she assured me that it would not be a problem. She asked for me to list the furniture that I would need moved and then said that she would speak to the owner to get a quote and get back in touch with me in about 30 minutes. I never heard back from her. I tried calling later that day, then the next day, and then the next... Each time nobody answered. I left messages but no one returned my calls. It is now several weeks after my move and I never did hear back from anyone - even to confirm that they would not be able to assist me. I wasted several days of my time waiting for these people because they had acted like it was going to be a sure thing on the phone. Apparently they have so much business that they don't feel they need any new customers, so do not even bother with them!
Cons: Extremely unprofessional! No way to run a business!
