I note two nice reviews - from 5 years ago. While the venue has indeed brought some great music to Portland in the past, there are downsides to this listening venue. They've recently remodeled - one can only hope they've added some comfortable seats, beacuse they've had some real killers in the past. And from a performer's point of view, Mississippi Studios presents challenges. Performers can wait months to get a simple yes or no about a performance there, which can really make a mess of tour plans, or CD releases. This has been true in the past, and doesn't seem to be changing. As for me, if there's someone appearing there that I'd like to hear, I can only hope that they'll be playing in Seattle, Eugene, or somewhere else close enough to travel to.
