I entered the store carrying one of my packages and there were a couple of ladies behind the counter. One of them smiled at me and said to put my package on the counter. I handed her my shipment receipt that required a signature to acknowledge the shipment with a declared value. She hesitated and then told the other lady how to process the shipment. I told her I had to go get the other boxes out of my vehicle. As I brought the last package into the store, a male employee handed me my receipt saying that he could not sign it and I would have to take it to the local main UPS hub for this service. I asked why and stated, you are a UPS store and you have the UPS logo. He said that The UPS Stores are franchised owned and they don?t sign receipts for declared values. So I was very puzzled and disappointed with his response. I told him that the UPS website instructed me to bring it to an authorized UPS center to get the receipt signed.
