Oak street coffee shop is my favorite coffee shop in the midwest, out of the dozens I've been to. The beans come from local roaster Broadway Cafe and the espresso is quite good. The atmosphere is terrific and both large rooms are filled with cozy tables and friendly faces. Once you introduce yourself to head barista and manager Dorna Edgar, you're greeted by name every time you come in. Dorna also bakes different cakes, cookies, and muffins daily. Their scones are the BEST in Kansas City, always soft and fresh. Grown men and women fight over these, so be sure to get I'm early.
