Sometimes when you hear that a restaurant has been ranked as the best in the area, you think to yourself. Why is it the best or is a reviewer/editor?s opinion really accurate? Millers has been consistently ranked as the best smorgasbord in Lancaster and it lives up to its ranking.
When a person thinks of a buffet, they think of the all you can eat part because that?s what a buffet is. But do people really think about the mass cooking of food? Usually, it seems buffet food is lower quality because it has to be prepared quickly and on a large basis. Millers does not give up on quality and maintains a clean, organized, and well stocked buffet. Millers is very organized when it comes to accommodating large groups of people (off a bus).
What I think is good at Millers? Well, they are definitely known for their fried chicken which is excellent. I also like their noodles, dry corn, and seafood bisque soup. They have a wide variety of other foods including fresh desserts (ice cream, bread putting, pies, cakes, etc.) I always get the full buffet, but they have other options for people on a tight budget including 1. soup and salad only and 2. hot food only. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is very close to the main attractions in the area, so it?s not a far drive from the main area of Lancaster (literally like 5 to 10 minutes).
If you don?t want to do the buffet, Millers also owns Plain & Fancy Farm down the road which is an authentic Amish farm atmosphere, but is mainly the same food.
Overall, very good restaurant. Expect to pay about $23+/- per person for the entire buffet, but worth it.
