Worst place for bachelorette parties, dancing 3/31/2009

Club Providence is possibly the WORST club I have been to, especially for bachelorette parties. I find it amusing that they have a whole page dedicated to bachelor (ette) parties on their website, when they practically ruined my friend's bachelorette night out. Our bachelorette (a successful, mature, 27 year old) said that she hadn't been yelled at that much since she was in junior high school. First off, you can't have line dances or dance in circles - the bouncers do not allow this. You are not allowed to get too crazy with your dancing - like say you and this guy are really good dancers and you start dancing together and a crowd forms around you because you are good and fun to watch - no - this is not allowed at Providence. The bouncers will break up any sort of dancing that draws a crowd or involves people doing dances in line/circle formations. Basically, you aren't allowed to have fun. I understand the $10 and $25 cover charges in AC, but the bottle service rules are crazy. You can't sit at a table without paying for bottle service, which will run you about $300 per table. There were about 12 of us and we wanted to get a table so we could rotate between the dance floor and the table (rest our feet - damn heels). So, we decided to bite the bullet and get a table and split the cost - we were then told that we would have to purchase TWO tables since there were like 12 of us. Even if we all were not planning on sitting. There is no place else to sit besides these tables in the whole damn place. Because we had no table, we had no place to put the bachelorette accessories we brought in with us - not that much stuff - just a couple feather boas, a hat and some pins/stickers (1 plastic bag worth - maybe). We weren't going to dance with them in our hand, so we set them on the floor next to a podium. The bouncer them proceeded to tell us that we had to hold onto them and couldn't put them there. So I asked him, where should I put them then? He said he doesn't know. Long story short, they wound up THROWING OUT our bachelorette gear because there was no place in the whole damn huge club that we were allowed to put a single plastic bag full of stuff. Way to cater toward bachelorette parties. And don't try to talk to the DJs or request a song - they will most likely just ignore and try to get you to "text" your request to a number that appears on the TV screens throughout the place (the TV screens will also show other texts people send - great ones like "LOL K.T." and "Billy loves Jen" and "this place is da bomb"). I am not in 5th grade. I do not need to text message song requests. So after being yelled at 15 times, having our bachelorette stuff thrown away, not being able to request a song and having our feet throbbing from not being able to site down, our bachelorette decided it was time to leave this hell hole and was nearly in tears. I've known this girl since college and have NEVER seen her upset. She left that place with her middle finger in the air for all the bouncers to see. Thank god somebody relayed the message about how bad our experience was there. Don't waste your money. Go to the Borgata clubs or even the Casbah instead. Pros: I can't even think of one thing Cons: Can't dance, bouncers think they own you, etc. more
