My husband and I went to the Slate Grill for the first time on Valentine's day. We're foodies and go out to eat all the time, and we thought we'd try somewhere new. I'm also not a complainer - I've been a server before and I know how hard it is. With those disclaimers: we had a terrible experience. We were put at a table that was in the way of everything. Our waiter did not come by to greet us for 15-20 minutes after arriving, and by the time he finally brought us a water, the people who were seated after we arrived had already eaten their appetizer. We would have gotten up to leave, but it was late and we had already driven there, so we just decided to go with it. The food was pretty good but not worth the wait. I'd rather go pretty much anywhere else for tapas. Train your waitstaff. This place won't last. We won't return.
