First off...every restaurant has its bad day, so to the rest of the world, lighten up. My husband and I have been to Flat Rock Grille twice. We stopped in last year on the way down from Long Island, NY on our trek to Florida. We took a chance and happened upon a very hospitable staff. We always sit at the bar when we are out and this evening was no different. We did not think anything out of the ordinary at first, but found thought the atmosphere warm and inviting, especially in January! When we got to the bar we were greeted by Erin, the bartender. She was fairly new to the restaurant when we first visited her last year in 2008. Her and the staff's attentiveness was a breath of fresh air! She new the menu and even new what to offer for pairings with what we ordered. She was how every bartender should be: friendly, focused and fun. When we left last year, we wrote her name down on the map and said we would come back to visit her. Sure enough, when we stopped back in this January in 2009, she was still there and although she did not remember our names, she did recall our face and after we reminded her of who we were, I think we shocked her that we came back just to visit with her on our trip back down to Florida this year. This goes to show that Flat Rock Grille does have good service and a stellar staff to go along with it. We hope Erin is there next year when we stop back through on the way to Florida to vacation. Favorites: Hickory Salmon, The She Crab Soup, The stuffed Flounder and the Flat Rock salad (new since last year)!!! If you want a great bar experience, visit the staff at Flat Rock Grille and ask for Erin!
