Las Vegas Biggest Culinary Secret 2/26/2009

I found this restaurant by accident, walking through the Mandalay Place shopping area. I was pleasantly surprised. This is not a typically upscale stuffy restaurant with all style and no substance.\r \r The service was polite friendly, and fast. The food was incredible from start to finish. For starters I had a shrimp scampi unlike any I have ever had before. Since that first time, I have brought friends with me and this appetizer is hands down the best scampi in town. \r \r The pasta was cooked to perfection not over or under cooked but a perfect al dente. Our waiter recommended the pappardelle pasta, he said the sauce was the chefs own creation. The recommendation was solid, and I have never had this sauce before, it was perfect. My buddy was in the mood for a steak but was not impressed with the steak on the menu. To our surprise this restaurant has many things not on the menu that can be had. He enjoyed a tenderloin, again, cooked perfectly.\r \r I love wines, especially Italian whites. The list at Giorgio was excellent, I enjoyed a bottle of Falanghina at a reasonable price. It was nice to even find this wine on the list.\r \r I asked where they got their bread and was told they have a bakery in house and bake their own, as well as making their own sauces and desserts.\r \r \r All in all a wonderful experience. I love to eat out, and this is now one of my favorites in Las Vegas. The most surprising aspect of this restaurant is the price. I have had meals of comprable quality with less quantity and nowhere near the service at twice the price in this city. \r \r Do your self a favor and check this hidden jewel out.
