I recently attended the funeral of a much loved and respected member of our community. Towards the end of the service, mourners were invited to come forward and share any special memories of the deceased and it soon became apparent that the Priest and the Funeral Director were giving everyone there the ""bums rush"". We were told that the sharing could be continued at the reception and then when people were waiting patiently to file past the casket, the Funeral Director, walked to the front and very rudely asked people to hurry and leave because the Priest had to be in another town at 1:15. His closing statement was and I quote ""We're on a tight schedule here!"" I was shocked and offended by the callousness of the man and I am not just speaking for myself. Other people commented on it as well and felt that his choice of words and demeanor that day were totally uncalled for and very unprofessional. People should never be treated so insignificantly at a time of mourning and I hope the Funeral Director (or maybe it was just one of their employees) will read this review and mend his ways for the next funeral. I also feel that he should offer a formal apology to the family who grieved that day. The funeral was held on Feb. 13th at 11:00 so they know who that was. I feel that if this is the way Boice Funeral Home treats their clients, I would never hold a service there for any of my loved ones.
