I work in Astoria and live in Staten Island, NY. I love bagels (even though they are loaded with carbs and i do my best to watch what i eat) and was soo glad when i first tasted the bagels at ""Brooklyn Bagels"" 2 years ago. The prices were alittle STEEP then but i just couldnt get enough of their bagels and specialty cream cheeses. I also liked the friendly staff (they would remember my coffee order or even have it ready for me when i got through the long line of customers). However, the prices for these bagels and specialty cream cheese have sky rocketed and are ASTRONAUMICAL!!! THE WHEAT CRISIS IS OVER!! There is no reason any person (ESPECIALLY DURING THE RECESSION) should pay $3.40 for a bagel with bacon and scallion cream cheese! Or $5.10 for a mini bagel with tuna salad for that matter!!! Granted, this is the only bagel store in town...BUT C'MON! Once in awhile sure but go to dunkin donuts down the block for a better deal..
