My wife and I went here for Valentine's because I'd heard good things and the menu on their web site had many interesting dishes. When were seated however, we were informed that they were offering a special prix fixe tasting menu and a limited version of their regular menu. I specifically picked Eatery over other places because they weren't limiting choices on this night. To make it worse, both of the dishes we had our sights on were not being offered. Needless to say, we were both in a bad mood right away. Realizing we would never get in anywhere else without a reservation, we decided to make the best of it, and we're glad we did. We started with the Manchego Cheese Bites. Essentially, fancy cheese curds, but beautifully presented and paired with a delicious quince jam. My wife then had the duck and I had the steak frites. Both were excellent; perfectly cooked and seasoned carefully. The space has a definite french bistro feel that was both elegant and relaxed; perfect for a romantic dinner. Service was excellent, and the chef came around to chat (and was very amusing). Wines by the glass were a little pricey, but bottle prices were good. Like a busy french bistro, tables are close together, so if you're not comfortable with having your conversation overheard and being able to hear others, remember to ask for a booth when making reservations. We ended splitting a deconstructed banana cream ""pie"". We both loved it, and I actually think it was one of the best desserts I'd ever had. All in all, we plan to return so that we can try the full menu.
Pros: Food, service, ambience
Cons: Closely spaced tables
