I went to Dr. P for a nose job because he was highly recommended. I am an actress/model with an ""ethnic"" nose that was also broken. Almost a year later, I don't look much different, honestly. The doctor claims he spent a lot of time refining my tip. Well, guess what? That's one part of my nose that doesn't look any different from what it did before. Now, he did get rid of the bump. But the tip is still wide and bulbous, and the angle between the tip and my upper lip was not changed. The tip is still much too heavy and round for my taste, especially when I smile. Supposedly, the base of the nose was narrowed. I'm not really seeing that. Granted, I look a little bit better than before, but the result doesn't quite measure up to what I expected. I specifically asked for a mainstream, Irish nose, really cutesy and feminine. What I see in the mirror is a far cry from that ideal. You can still tell what my ethnic roots are. Maybe it's just the way I heal. Maybe my expectations were unreasonable? Who knows. The bottom line is: I blame myself for not having been pushier and more aggressive. Apparently, I was too modest about communicating my needs. Doctors are not mind-readers. They have their own idea of what looks good. Apparently, Dr. P has many happy patients. Many of them are mastectomy patients and disfigurement victims. I cannot fault him for lack of compassion or bedside manners. Perhaps, he's a little too nice. Just because the doctor is a ""nice guy"" and he's good at certain procedures on soft tissues, it doesn't mean he's the right chose for someone who's in the show biz. If you are considering a nose job with Dr. P, take a good look at his portfolio and decide if you like what you see. In his defense, it's better to underdo than overdo a procedure like that. And yes, a revision is a possibility, technically speaking. I just don't have the money for it. It would've been nice to get the desired results the first time. In my case, I'm probably just going to cut my losses and deal with it. I shouldn't complain too much anyway. I don't look terrible (not that I looked terrible in the first place). It's just not what I had in mind. I'd be lying if I said I was head over heels in love with my new nose. Hope that the rest of you have better luck. It's entirely possible that Dr. P makes miracles. Maybe he'll work a miracle for you. Pros: Nice guy, nice facilities... Cons: Maybe it's my fault... maybe it's just my luck... more
