My first encounter with the owner Alex and his Subport Sandwiches began back in the 80's located on Fletcher Ave. and I considered myself a frequent customer. Great subs, Alex was a sweetheart and his staff was most pleasant. \r

I had moved away from the North Tampa area for several years but found myself in the area for another reason and decided I wanted a Subport sandwich and to see Alex. I drove to the Fletcher Ave. location and Alex and his Subport was gone! \r
\r
After research, I found Alex closed the Fletcher Ave. location due to lack of business as a ""day labor"" office opened next door and business pretty much died due to derilects/homeless hanging around the strip mall begging for money. Alex's Subport was now on Dale Mabry Ave.\r
\r
I stopped by Alex's Dale Mabry Subport shop and was pleased to find Alex behind the counter but it was a bitter-sweet reunion. That's where I learned about the Fletcher Ave demise and his unsuccessful attempt in the Brandon area shop.\r

Alex is a good and honest man and makes great subs and employed great co-workers! It appears Alex may have sold Subport or hired new management as these negative reviews do not make sense to me.\r
\r
I loved Subport sanwiches. Next best meal to a juicy steak with onions and mushrooms, baked potatoe with extra butter and sour cream and corn on the cob and for half the cost! Hello? Plus, you don't have to ""dress up"" to enjoy Alex's subs has to offer your taste buds! \r
\r
I am now in South Brandon so it would be quite a travel to enjoy one of the many subs Alex has to offer me! Around 23 miles and I have been unemployed for over two months now so that would not make financial sense. That is the only reason why I am not enjoying a Subport sandwich and bantering with Alex and his co-workers.\r
\r
Alex, if you are reading this, please, if you can or even interested, open another bigger and better Subport in Brandon. We need you, your sandwiches and great co-workers! \r
