I have been to The Melting Pot on a dozen or so occasions and this was my fourth trip to the Louisville location. Normally a great place to eat, I consider it a special experience as I rarely can afford to drop $120 on a meal for two. Tonight I had my worst dining experience ever at The Melting Pot in Louisville. We arrived on a Thursday night at 7:00 and were told there would be a wait due to earlier reservations that had priority, which was fine. We took a seat at the bar for what turned out to be 40 minutes as they seated three tables of people that trickled in. After 2 drinks and finally seated, we see that the restaurant is nearly empty and wonder why the hell we just waited for almost an hour. The first course came out fine and the cheese was good. However the server brought our oil and set the temperature, then another server came by and turned it on high; the oil began to turn our food into charcoal. The broccoli literally crumbled and it ruined nearly every piece of meat. Our original server then turned off the heat completely and the oil cooled too much so it started soaking into the food, very nasty. The burner was then turned back on. The server then started to cook our last few pieces of meat (LOBSTER & FILET MIGNON) that we didn't want to ruin on the table behind us in a new pot of oil. At this point I asked for a manager. She informed me that she would be happy to cover our few drinks that we had while we were needlessly waiting at the bar for our table. We miserably sat through the dessert, which was mediocre at best, because the burner could still not regulate the temperature. I can't believe I drove to Louisville and spent $120 for a two and a half hour ""experience""; and on top of that, the manager was not willing to rectify the situation. I enjoyed my drinks... It was the meal I had a problem with!
