In the north dallas suburbs one gets the feeling that there's an upscale steakhouse on every corner. as a result, they become difficult distingush from one another; they all have the prime steak litany, they all have the family sized side dishes and they all have shrimp cocktail, fried calamari, wedge salad, etc. i think what set steve fields apart on our visit was the personal touch from their server and manager since they are not a multi-unit chain, and we found them both to be very accommodating. the wine list is just ok but they had several off the list selections that were not of the ""reserve"" variety that were also reasonably priced. my filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the prime rib was excellent as well.
Pros: friendly service, good quality
Cons: limited wine list, but some good off the menu options
