My husband picked me up on my lunch break today and I had a taste for chinese. I regret ever happening upon this place. We walked inside and immediately we were asked to be seated which is the only thing I can say I liked about the experience. I asked if i could order to go, there was a young girl who was very nice by the way but there was also an older women who scowled at us as if we were there to eat her for lunch. after helping myself to a menu on the front counter my husband and I sat down after we decided what to order I stood up and told the older lady what I wanted, my husband then asked how big the portions are because he was not very hungry and her response to him was well if you dont want it you can go somewhere else. I was shocked at her behavior and immediately had to leave or I would have in fact had this women for lunch, but decided instead to write a review to let everyone know how my husband and I were treated. I still cant figure out why we were treated this way, we did nothing to provoke this rude behavior. My husband and I are African American and I hate to say it but racial discrimination is what i would call it. I thought at first maybe she was just having a bad day, but several other people came in and out of the resturant while we were there and this women seemed to be very curteous to them, of course they were all asian or white. My point is if you happen to be a black american you might not want to eat at hoong's palace. I cant comment on the food because we were obvioulsy not welcome to it.
Cons: Sour service
