The three positive reviews about this company must be from employees!
From start to finish, the experience has been an education in leverage. They lowball the estimate and stick to it until almost everything has been loaded. Once it is close to loaded they let you know that the original estimate was a little low and there would be some additional fees. The additional fees amounted to nearly $1000, 150% of the original estimate. Once loaded, we were left with no option but to pay the first portion of the money agreed, rather than to get our stuff off the truck as we would have liked.
The delivery was rushed and did not allow any time to ensure that all of the items were delivered. The delivery drivers leveraged me for tips so they could eat and in the end, we lost some belongings and have had a horrible experience rectifying anything with the situation as Acclaimed Movers already has our money. I would caution, don't use this company. If you have the money to pay these guys what the move will end up costing in the end, simply go with a reputable mover and and get more for what you will pay for anyway. The original estimate was for a 1 bedroom house for $1700. They charged us $2600, imagine the shock! No packing materials other than some expensive tape that sucks and is excessively overused.
By the way we specifically avoided National
because of bad reviews only to learn that National and Acclaimed are working together so guess who delivered our stuff and who ended up with our money. National Van-lines.
Trust me, the other reviews above must be from employees, there is no way a normal customer gets treated that well.
