Not a good place for your dog 12/13/2009

I took my dog to the Lucky Dog Retreat about 3 times. My dog is a well behaved 1yr old that has been socialized with other dogs since she was born. People that I work with told me they had horrible experiences with Lucky dogs daycare and boarding but I brushed it off and continued to board her overnight there. The second time she stayed there she got bit on the ear but I figured thats what happens when dogs play all day. The last time I boarded her, several days ago, I picked her up and didn't notice anything. After she woke up from sleeping all day I noticed she did not want to walk. I looked at her feet and the pads on her paws were completely worn off and raw. Every time anything touched her sore covered paws she would start shaking uncontrollably from the pain. I had to wrap all of her paws up becuase she was in so much pain and its going to take a long time for them to heal. I called lucky dog and the person in charge said that it was not their responsibility because they aren't a kennel and was quite rude. She said it wasn't there fault that she runs around the entire time she is there. When I dropped her off I had specifically told them that since she got bit the last time to put her up for a time out if necessary. I worked as a vet tech for many years and it is a fact that you must be aware of every dogs physical state in order to conduct a safe business. I was under the impression that when you pay someone to watch your dog that they would be responsible?!! Go ahead and spare yourself and your dog the pain and find a place that actually cares about the animals that stay there. Cons: Not enough supervision more
