I am a veterinarian myself and I was looking around for reviews of local vet clinics, when I came across this very angry post "cat urine collectors: money starving thieves". I have never commented before but I feel it necessary this time. I tried just commenting on the comment but there was not enough room to get my point across. What I take away from all of this information is that your cat obviously did NOT have a bladder infection (which makes sense since its rather uncommon in other wise healthy cats) and you should be glad that Dr. Clapper did not waste your money on antibiotics that weren't warrented or give you false hope that medication would fix the problem. I see this all the time and many of my colleges just stick cats on antibiotics because thats what clients want. Well, its wrong. Inappropriate urination is the number one cause for cats to be given up to shelters and to fix the problem. I agree that it is all about environment. And even though you may think Dr. Clapper wasted your time, I see that she spent a decent amount of time trying to get you to understand the problem...you said yourself she took 25 minutes just talking. Maybe she didn't relay the information well enough but it sure looks like she tried. I don't know about you but my doctor has never taken that kind of time with me. So, I feel that your anger is misplaced and it saddens me to see such harsh comments. Also, I might add that my son has a peircing. He is a straight A student, does volunteer work, loves his family and I couldn't be more proud of him.
