I just went to Austin to look at wedding venues. I was an hour late to meet with April at Winfield and she was SO NICE about it even though she had to stay an hour late on a SATURDAY! April really wants you to have the wedding of your dreams and she will bend over backwards to accommodate you--smiling the whole time. I think Winfield is a good alternative to the Barr Mansion. It is INCREDIBLY affordable. Even though it's 20 min. from Austin, I think with the money you save you could hire a shuttle bus for the night to ferry your guests from a downtown hotel and back for this venue. We have not decided whether we are going with this Venue but if we decide to go the rustic route a la vintage villas, Barr mansion, etc. This would be our choice. It's pretty, it's big, the trees are BEAUTIFUL, it's set back from the main road, it's affordable, and April is someone every bridezilla wants at her side. I don't even think she is capable of saying the word "no"
Pros: beautiful venue, great service
Cons: distance from Austin
