Since I moved to Philly for grad school 3 years ago, I've been taking my dog to Fairmount Animal Hospital (reluctantly). Had the same experience on my 1st visit as described in an earlier review - Dr. Eynard gave me a stack of pamphlets, then showed me jars of worms & bugs that could end up in my dog. When I asked which vaccines were absolutely necessary, I was told it was my decision & that it was his ""responsibility"" to give me all the facts. Based on such fear tactics, I never trusted him like I did my previous vets, though I kept going for routine checkups as my dog was never mistreated. \r \r Recently when I ordered heartworm meds online (as I had done previously), I was told they will not signoff on the order unless I signed a release form. Sounded reasonable, until they refused to fax, email or mail me the form - I had to come in in-person. They then tried to persuade me to buy the meds from them (even offered me a free pack). When I went in to sign the form, I was told they do not deal directly with online pharmacies. I would have to pay $5 for a written prescription but I could only get it for a 6-month supply (they won't give 12-month prescriptions to online pharmacies). \r \r I might have tolerated the fees & ""policies"" had I received exceptional care, but that was the last $5 they will get from me & I will find another vet who will actually value me as a customer. more
