I have a toy poodle and try to use my old vet in Boerne as much as possible since I have a great relationship with him. However, my dog was having stomach issues and I couldn't make the 2 hour drive to see my vet, so I looked up Spicewood Springs and found they had good reviews, so I made the appointment. The front desk staff were friendly, and I didn't have to wait too long to be seen for my 4:30PM appointment. The vet techs were all very nice and treated my dog lovingly. Then I got to meet Dr. Bates, who introduced herself to me using her first name, which I found nice. She then took the time to first love on my dog, talk to her, and let my dog give her kisses. She's young but professional, explained everything to me, and was very sweet. You could tell she cared for the animals she was treating and liked what she did. They set me up with proper meds, explained how to administer them, and patiently answered my questions. Although I'll still try to go back to my vet in my hometown if possible, I know that if I ever need an Austin vet, Dr. Bates at Spicewood Springs will be the vet I'll trust my dog to. Granted, this was only my first time at this office, but I believe in first impressions, and Dr. Bates made a great first impression on me! Thank you, Dr. Bates!
Pros: Caring vet, nice vet techs
Cons: None so far
