Yesterday my wife and I went to purchase yet another Honda. Our family has several, purchased from both Rick Case Honda (Davie, FL) and Pompano Honda.
We visited the Internet Sales Dept. and had Carlos Serralheiro as our salesman. He offered to sell us his ?demo? Accord LXP with 1,400 miles on it for $19,700.00. He said it was a 2009 Accord sedan. We looked at the car and decided to buy it. He took all our information and said it would be a while so we left to pick up our daughters Civic which was having an oil change. He told us to meet him in the main showroom across the street when we returned and everything would be ready to go. We were gone maybe ? hour. When we returned we were met by Carlos and his ?Manager? and were told they made a ?mistake?. We were told the car was not a 2009, but rather a 2010 and he could only discount it $200.00 off the 09 ?invoice? price. I asked how could they come up with only a 200 dollar discount on a car with 1400 miles on it. So they tried to talk us into a 2010. They would not negotiate what so ever on the 09 ?demo? lower than 200 dollars off.
My wife and I then left the dealership. If this is the way Pompano Honda/Honda now represents itself I believe it may be time to switch to Chevy Malibu or the Hyundai Sonata my wife wanted to by. I talked her into a new Honda, and she had a really huge disappointing experience at that showroom, thanks to their standard car dealership ""Tricks"".
Last April, when I was in the showroom leasing a new Civic, two sales men were actually fighting over a sale in front of me and other consumers. They were very loud and cussing at each other. This place is going to the dogs.
Pros: not many
Cons: ""bait and switch"" seems to be the new motto there.
