If you are not on a budget and you think that your cat/dog is just as valuable to you as a son/daughter, consider paying the astronomical fees of some private vet care. As for public, no appointment required care, this hospital cannot be beat. The Western PA Humane Society and Western Penn Animal hospital are two excellent care facilities in the city of Pittsburgh. The Humane Society is often inundated with caring for strays and surrendered animals and cannot make time for my dogs and cats. West Penn Animal hospital fills that gap and does so with professionalism and care. They keep good records and remind you with mailed out cards when to bring your animal in for shots and checkups. While I agree that the filing system is out of date, it works and my cats and dogs are up to date on immunizations because of it. If the support staff are content using this system and it still works, who cares? The vets themselves are professional and will answer whatever strange questions you have and believe me I have come up with a few. This is a clinic though and do keep in mind that there are a number of people usually waiting behind you who are just as important and probably love their animal just as much as you do. I have always been treated in a professional manner while there as I have treated the support staff with the same respect. I trust them with my three pets and I think that is the most valuable thing I can say here.
Pros: Certified and experienced vet care
