I don't know what both K.S and Jack Y are talking about below. Clearly, they are talking about a different place or they have some personal agenda, which isn't helpful for reviewing the food.
Simi Deli has been around for a long time time (definitely over 20+ years) and probably one of the few 'ma & pa' shops still around Simi. The food is amazing, cooked right on the spot, and the portions are big! You get so much for your money, that you have leftovers for later (which in this economy doesn't hurt my pockets, and clearly very generous of the owners to provide so much for the amount we pay). Their pastrami (the Rachel sandwich) is great! Their matzah ball soup is also wonderful and the taste is pretty much spot-on. All of their various items on their menu is wonderful.
The service there is also great. It's not like a chain restaurant where you have 10 or more useless staff just sitting around. It's a true deli style, and the waitresses have been there for more than 10 years. Sometimes the wait can be about 10-15 minutes but it's understandable. Everyone seems to be hardworking and very attentative to what you want and need. I really love this place.
Pros: Comfortable, Laid back environment; Excellent Food
