I want to start out by saying that I am an employee of the Country Bride. I have been working there for a year and a half now as a bridal consultant. There are a few things that I would like to clarify about the country bride as it seems we are getting some what of a bad rap here. \r
The women that I work with are phenomenal women. They all truly LOVE what they do and will bend over backwards to make sure that everything is just right for your special day! We do not work off of commission so there is no reason for us to push a sale. We truly all do it for the love of the job. As far as sizing goes, we do our absolute best to order the size that is closest to your fit. The store does NOT make money off of alterations so we do NOT benifit if your gwon needs to be taken in. The seamstresses are subcontractors, they make up thier own pricing based off of what needs to be done to the dress. Often times these gowns have mutiple layers, beading, boning, lace and other attibutes that make altering your gown both difficult and time consuming. If you believe that sample gown fits you well you can absolutly request that size. If in the consultants professional opinion she believes that you should go up in size then she will express that. The look and fit of the gown is what is in our best interest and once again we have NOTHING to gain by ordering you a bigger size. Keep in mind that we do order based on the largest part of the body. That means if your gown fits you great in the hips and large in the bust then you will have to have the top taken in. That is the case in most situations as we are not all built completly proportionate. Trust me, this is not some cruel joke we play on you. \r
I want to take a minute to say how unbelievably amazing my manager is, Susan. This women is so compassionate and so caring. She pays attention to every single detail. Each bridal party recieves specific attention from her. She will absolutly work with you over any concern that you have. She is genuine. \r
To wrap this up her are a few tips to insure the best service possible...always make an appointment, do your research meaning bring in pictures and style #'s of what you like if we don't have the exact gown you're interested in we prob have something very similar. Don't bring to many people with you to your bridal appointment, to many opinions cause an overload, it's frusterating to the bride and to the consultant. And last but not least PLEASE ladies wear a strapless bra and full bottem underwear! \r
We have married off thousands of happy brides over the past thirty years and we will continue to share warm hugs and happy tears with our lovely brides! To the nay sayers, I am very sorry that you did not have a pleasant experience but as they say ""you can't please everyone"" but we certainly try!
