I was a customer of this establishment for over 5 years - both consigning and buying - when I went in one day (of many) to consign a box of clothes. The (new-ish) staff member was so rude to me, I was shocked! There were no other customers in the store and yet she didn't seem to want to be bothered with me. She acted as though I was interrupting her and she was going to be doing me a favor by looking at my clothes. I would like to say that this is an apalling attitude for a store that without consigners would have no business!
When she FINALLY decided to look at my clothes, she proceeded to pick them apart. The ""accept"" pile was noticeably smaller than the ""reject"" pile and many of the rejected clothes looked much like the ones already hanging in the store! Being an experienced consigner, I knew what to bring in and what not to bother with, and yet she still rejected more than half of my box with made-up, baloney explanations.
To make matters worse, when I called to complain to the owner, she defended the rude employee and was even more rude to me herself! What happened to customer service?!
In addition to this experience, I once consigned a toy that they didn't sell, but then couldn't find all the pieces of when it came time to return it to me. They offered me nothing in return and basically implied that I was consigning at my own risk and they would take no responsibility for my property while it was in their possession.
I will NEVER set foot in this store again and would advise anyone else to do so at their own risk.
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Rude and irresponsible - even w/longtime, repeat customers
