one of the worst Hertz location in the Metro Washington area. At any given time there is scarcely any road worthy cars to select from. My last rental there was a car with keys that could not open the doors. Returning that car for an exchange proved a nightmare, because the location had closed and I had to travel to the National Airport location to make the exchange. Despite that problem, Hertz Silver Spring location would not agree to a 1 hour flexibility window for the return of the car, although it took me more than an hour to get to the airport to return the lemon for a working rental car. And one other thing, that office closes at 6 p.m and has a real draconian key drop-off policy, so that if you get there 1 minute after they close and drop off your car, they would still charge you for an extra day rental.\r

I am a frequent Hertz renter and I would not recommend renting from the Silver Spring location.
