Most people would probably just drive by this restauant on Powell Blvd since it is very non-descript. The restauarant opened in either 1996 or 1997. We used to live near the restaurant and were regular customers - a couple times a month - through 1998 until we moved out of the area. We were usually the only Westerners in the place for the first few years. \r

We still get to the resatuarant a couple times a year and the wait staff remember us as some of their original customers. The salt and pepper shrimp is consistently amazing. Another favorite is the sauteed green beans. Whole crispy fish is another tasty choice. There is a large vegetarian / vegan friendly selection on the menu, along with some very traditional Chinese selections. The brocolli with chili has a terrific kick of chili paste. \r

It's great to go with a group of people and order about one dish for every two people since it is set up as ""family style"". The price is very reasonable for the quantitiy and quality of food you receive.
Pros: salt and pepper shrimp, green beans, on the #9 Powell bus line
Cons: no real parking lot, so you need to park on residential / side street
