Wonderful cosmopolitan food in a warm country atmosphere 1/10/2009

The Valley Inn occupies a Civil War era home built in 1861. It was constructed as a wedding gift by Theron Main for his son James and his new wife. The restaurant is on the first floor. I have dinned at the Valley Inn for both lunch and dinners over the past few years. The Dinners in my opinion seem to be better then the lunches but the lunches are still very good. This review is about out most recent dinning experience at the Valley Inn - Saturday evening. December 27, 2008. This was one of our most enjoyable dinning experiences in years. The holiday deco was wonderful and unique with a Victorian flare. The service, wine and food selection was exceptional. I had the slow roasted pork shank with Quinoa stuffed quail dish and my wife had the Beef Wellington. The Wellington is only available on Friday and Saturday nights. The Pork/Quail has a maple glaze that perfectly complements both flavors. The pork was fall off the bone tender. The Beef Wellington was done perfectly. Both dishes had an excellent presentation. The prices for the quality of food are quite reasonable. I highly recommend reservations for the weekends. In my opinion, you can?t go wrong dining at the Valley Inn. I am already looking forward to our next visit. Enjoy. DS Pros: nice fresh food. Cons: stone parking lot more
