This company solicited business in my area although it wasn't close to their establishment. Al Carter, the owner, promised he would be able to service the accordion shutters I ordered and gave me a 15 year parts and labor warranty. His price was low so I took a chance. His installer rushed the installation as he told me he had to go give someone an estimate later in the day. This appeared more important to him than doing my job correctly. If I wasn't standing there one of the accordion shutters would have been installed with the lock facing the wrong way. At any rate, the shutters were installed and the job appeared adequate so I paid them for it. A few months later one of the screws on the locking rod would not work preventing the locking rod from locking in place. I called Mr. Carter who was very reluctant to come but eventually said he would come within 2 weeks. He did not come nor did he call. Subsequent calls went unanswered and messages were not returned. A certified letter was signed for but I still got no call. I plan to contact an attorney to see what legal options I have which may include suing for the cost of repair. I really don't need this aggravation. The problem with the rod does not appear to be that difficult for the company to repair, but it does prevent the shutters from locking adequately in place. I am sure if he showed up it could be repaired relatively quickly. I am not around the corner from him so I don't expect him to come at the drop of a hat. I do, however, expect him to talk to me to try to work something out, not totally ignore my complaint. I am concerned about any future problems which may develop as the warranty is not being honored and is therefore worthless. Although the price was low, this is not everything, Peace of mind is equally important. Based on my experience I would advise anyone to think twice before engaging this company.
