My husband and I visited this "spa" for a couple's massage in January of 2009. I am 9 months pregnant and love getting prenatal massages. We arrived at a beautiful resort only to be sorely disappointed with extremely unprofessional service. The massage bed (for me) was never warmed up and by the end of the massage, my feet were like ice. The lady massaging me was supposed to certified in prenatal massage but was obviously not. I was offered no wedges for my pregnant body, even when lying flat on my back. This is actually dangerous so I placed my own hand under my body to support my right side. There was no music playing until I asked and then the CD turned off. The phone could be heard ringing throughout the massage and the lady kept commenting to me about various things during the "relaxing" massage. The final straw was when she gave me a downright painful belly massage...I asked her to stop rubbing my belly and couldn't wait for the massage to end. To be fair, my husband enjoyed his massage but I cannot recommend this spa because of potential danger to pregnant women trusting that someone is actually certified and knowing what they are doing. There are also no blinds or curtains on the windows and so the room is incredibly bright the whole time. Also, the houses next door could see right in if they wanted to. To add insult to injury, a 20% gratuity was added without asking or telling us beforehand. Very unprofessional. Not relaxing. Potentially dangerous. Cannot recommend and would never visit again. If you've ever had a professional massage, you will be sorely disappointed.
Pros: pretty atmosphere in country-like setting
Cons: potentially dangerous, not relaxing, bright massage rooms, cold tables, no music, cats
